Toad reimagines fan faves & wraps up summer tour; new album next year?

Earlier this year, Toad released “All I Want,” a collection of fan favorites that the band has reimagined and re-recorded.

In a statement posted on their website, the band said, “Like most bands who recorded for major labels, we didn’t actually own many of the recordings we did during that time. ‘All You Want’ is us reclaiming our past for ourselves. While making this album, we got to look under the hood at the parts we’d written so long ago, pull apart some of the magic of the originals, and in some cases, update arrangements, tempos, or attitudes that we thought we could improve upon with the benefit of a little hindsight.”

The album, “All You Want,” is available for purchase through the band’s website, toadthewetsprocket.com, or at one of their concerts.

Toad’s been out on tour over the summer, with a few dates still to go on the east and west coasts. While on tour, they’ve mentioned the possibility of a new album in 2012, and have played a couple new songs. A few of those songs have ended up on YouTube. Check ‘em out — they sound great!

Hello again

After a long hiatus, this site is once again actively maintained. I started this web site 15 years ago when I was a college freshman. After moving to Chicago for a job a few years ago, I had less and less time to devote to the site, and eventually it just got really outdated.

I hope you enjoy the new site design and will come back often. I still have work to do — right now, just the Toad portion of the site is done, I still need to work on the Glen & Lapdog sites — but hopefully having a blog will make it a little easier to keep this site up to date!

Thanks for stopping by,

-John
